
Martin Lorentzon owns most of its shares through chain of two companies. Despite owning only 11.1 of Spotify, Martin Lorentzon controls 42.5 of all votes and, together with his co-founder Daniel Ek, controls Spotify. He holds a Master of Science in Industrial Civil Engineering from the Chalmers University of Technology and a Master of Business Administration from the Gothenburg School of Economics. The second largest Spotify owner is co-founder and largest individual shareholder Martin Lorentzon, who owns an 11.1 share. Lorentzon has held senior roles at Telia Company (now part of TeliaSonera), Altavista, an early web search engine, Cell Ventures, a venture capital company in Stockholm, and NetStrategy, an internet business incubator. Lorentzon founded TradeDoubler, an internet marketing company based in Stockholm, Sweden, and served as a member of its board of directors through 2005. Lorentzon has served as a member of the board of directors of Telia Company since 2013. In addition to his role on the board, Mr. Lorentzon previously served as Chairman of the board from 2008 to 2016. He was named International Swede of the Year in 2014.
